Facing Intolerance

Sandra Schoen was the art director for a collaborative, student-led photography installation in McFarland, Wisconsin. Portraits of McFarland students taken by Jordan Richmond were paired with narratives of the subjects’ experiences with prejudice and discrimination and displayed first in the high school library, and subsequently at the Overture Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Sandra worked with student organizers to coordinate the overall aesthetic and display. Sandra also led fundraising efforts and designed the exhibition’s graphic elements.
